Hustle, hustle, hustle, that is all we do. At least that is how it feels sometimes. Sometimes you have to just stop for a minute and recharge, have some me time. I know I’m always talking about doing hard things, pushing through, and taking action. Those things are important. Those things are extremely important. But let’s be honest, they take a toll. It is exhausting to constantly be pushing through. That is why we need to recharge. Heck sometimes the hard thing we need to do is take the time to recharge.
Recharging gives us the strength to push through. It actually helps us be more productive. If you don’t recharge, you burn out and that can lead to all kinds of nasty side effects. I don’t need to tell you all the reasons that is a bad idea, you know it’s true. Figure out what you need to do to recharge, make it a priority, and make it something you do regularly.
I recharge by writing, taking pictures, crafting, and reading. When I get the opportunity to write without distractions, it fills me up. It gives me what I need to get up and go to work in the morning. It gives me the extra I need to come home from work to my second full time job as mom and wife. It gives me the extra I need in order to make myself go to the gym. For some people the gym is their way to recharge. Sometimes, I wish it was mine, but sadly it’s not.
Which leads me to, one more point. Sometimes we try to deny our joys and substitute with things we “should” be doing. Stop! Save yourself the time and struggle, it doesn’t work, I’ve been there, done that, and failed. It’s actually more draining and will have the opposite effect. We all have something that fills us up, find it, do it, and then use the energy you receive from it to tackle all those have to do things.
Now, get off the internet and go do something that really fills your soul.
Until next time,
